I recently purchased the best advertisement for an Apple computer…a Dell system equipped with Windows Vista.
If the folks at Apple are smart, they could save a bunch on advertising. No longer do they have to tout the benefits of purchasing a Mac laptop or the latest Apple desktop. All they have to do is get testimonials from folks who have suffered through Windows Vista and viola…ad is complete.
Loyal Dell/Windows Customer
For years I’ve purchased Dell systems. I recently got rid of several of my old Dell desktop towers that were sitting in our basement. In our house, we all use Dell laptops (equipped with Windows XP) for our computing needs. Imagine my complete surprise and disgust when I purchased my most recent laptop from Dell that was equipped with Windows Vista.
Being that Windows Vista has been around for a while, I thought Microsoft might have ironed out the early kinks. I guessed wrong. I won’t bore you with the details and the list of software workarounds and upgrades and frustrating reboots. Suffice it to say that if you’re looking to purchase a new system, forget Windows equipped PCs and buy an Apple.
The True Cost
While PC’s are cheaper initially, the amount of time spent and wasted rebooting, configuring workarounds, downloading patches and purchasing new software (and hardware) adds up in the long run making the Apple a more economical alternative.
Unfortunately, I’m in too deep with this current laptop, but you can bet, I’m putting my pennies together to buy my first Mac. I’m soooo done with Windows operating systems.
That’s my two cents and I’m sticking with it!
