Success Stories & Motivation

Celebrate

It’s funny how we can always remember to beat ourselves up when we don’t do something or fall short of our goals but we don’t always remember to give ourselves a pat on the back with each victory.  If we pat ourselves on the back more often maybe we’ll accomplish more.

This page is still being developed, but if you have a writing success story to share (no matter how large or small), please share it here.

*With the Eve’s permission, I copied this comment from my NJFM blog and posted it here as a success story.

Felicia, I love it when you post stats like this — it gives me an incentive to keep writing.

You are really my main source of inspiration when it comes to online writing. When I created my first site in 2009 and it didn’t completely take off money-wise, I might have seriously just forgotten about the whole thing.

But then the eHow fiasco happened, and you kept writing about focusing on the bottom line, and your message kept going back to: own your sites. Own your own writing. Own your data. See where the money is, concentrate on those sites.

I now have six sites up, and every month, the earnings keep increasing. I know you get a lot of this — but I want to say thank you for writing this blog. Thank you for all the advice you’ve given us. I doubt I would have kept plugging along if it weren’t for your inspiring posts.

Felicia,
I really like your writing style. It feels like sista to sister talk on the phone. You know what I mean? You slide humor through the pages, between the words, that makes me smile.

Please keep up blogging as much as possible, because you are an inspiration for me. Your business model and your flavor I would so love to be able to carry on in myself.

Alas, conviction that I can do what you do and that others would actually want to hear what I have to say is but one of the things that holds me back.

Still I don’t give up and I fight to believe in myself daily, within each minute that I am able to take a breath.
I just wanted to say……Thank you.

I was inspired by reading your article in Hope’s newsletter today. I’ve been dabbling with Suite 101 (I have about 50 articles up) for the past 2 years, but never really went full speed ahead. I guess I find it hard to believe that writers can make a good living composing articles they enjoy writing (!) I’ve been a writer for 20 years — print and online. Print work, as you know, has been drying up over the past 2 years. I’ve also worked for content companies such as QuinStreet — but found it tiresome writing about vinyl siding over and over again. I think I will take the plunge and really mine Suite 101 for all its worth! Thanks again for your inspiration. It is great to know that writers CAN make a good living working exclusively online.
