Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish all mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day. Take time to thank the Lord for all He has given you and enjoy your day.

When I stop to think about all of the holidays we celebrate, I’m not sure which tops the list as my favorite, Thanksgiving or Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is the only day of the year that I’m pretty much assured that I won’t have to cook, clean, wash, fold clothes, sweep, vacuum, wash floors, food shop, iron or perform any such task (because I’ve learned to do it all the day before Mother’s Day and I’m usually too exhausted on Mother’s Day to lift a finger). I get the pleasure of watching my husband and children collectively be me for a day.

Thanksgiving is quite the opposite, but just as enjoyable. I guess the pampering mothers get in May strengthens us for the preparations we make in November. Let’s face it, Thanksgiving is only six months after Mother’s Day, our energy reservoir should still be half full. It has to last for at Heartleast half a year until Mother’s Day comes around again for another day of pampering. It’s amazing how moms are so frugal and efficient. We can make one day of pampering last for a whole year.

Life is good!
